St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join its highly regarded and well-established Cardiac Surgery program at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
This is a full-time employed position within a dynamic team that includes a group of five cardiac surgeons and a hospital employed Cardiologist team. The clinic and surgical offices are conveniently situated on the hospital campus, and the position is supported by a dedicated team of Surgical PAs providing 24/7 coverage within modern, state-of-the-art hospital facilities.
Our comprehensive cardiology services include Non-Invasive, Electrophysiology, Interventional, and Structural Heart specialists. The program has consistently been acknowledged by independent healthcare quality researchers as one of the top cardiac programs in both New York State and the nation.
Drawing patients from a broad tri-state region centered in Syracuse, the team delivers excellent outcomes as measured by STS (Society of Thoracic Surgeons) criteria. The program offers a full spectrum of cardiac surgical services, ranging from minimally invasive procedures to complex surgeries involving advanced techniques. While the program does not currently perform transplants, surgical results consistently exceed both state and national benchmarks.

Requirements:
- Board certification in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery;
- At least 10 years of experience
- Robotic Certification and Experience a plus;
- NYS License or eligibility.
